Clicking on any photo will take you to a larger version of that image. July 12, 2002 It is currently 10:00PM Hawii Time that translates to 4:00AM EST time (July 13,2002)! John and I are still up. I'm not yet sleepy for some reason. Our trip started yesterday in Atlanta -July 11th. We left Atlanta at around 7:30 our plane was delayed about half an hour. Total Flight time 4 hours. We flew straight to L.A. and stayed there overnight. We flew out at 9:50AM Pacific time on our way to Honolulu!. The flight was around 5 hours. Once in Honolulu we still had to take another flight to get to the Big Island of Hawii! Our arrival time to final destination was around 3:30pm local time. We had a wonderful gretting once we arrived. John's Mom, Dad, Sister Marie and husband Reuben was there to greet us with beautiful flower Lei's! They began there trip a couple of days earlier than us. Once we arrived we headed to a snorkel shop to equip ourselves with needed beach gear. It was a little bit of a drive, but snorkel gear much cheaper there than other places on the island. In addition to snorkel gear we rented a boogie board and an ice chest. It will be fun using our gear for the week. After that we headed back home, but not without a stop at the store. We had to pick up a few items at Costco and the grocery store. I had been warned Hawaii was expensive and today I witnessed that. A loaf of bread cost us 3 bucks! Believe it or not that was actually a deal other places on the island it will cost you about $6! Amazing! Gas is around 2 bucks a gallon! Our dodge neon is already guzzling gas!....Once we got back to our condo, Mrs. Kathy had dinner waiting. We celebrated Marie's birthday with ice cream and cake then took a dip in the Lava Rock hot tub right out our door! It was a wonderful evening! Well think I'll try to go to bed now. We are planning to get up around sunrise 6am and head to the beach with our new snorkeling gear! That should be fun. My digital camera isn't an underwater camera so unfortunately we won't be able to share with you guys all of the great sea life! But will share some good beach pics!
